Presents the principle of the error analysis. Deduces a formula of measurement error for heat transfer in water side for surfacetype heatexchangers. Discusses the major factors influencing the maximum permissible error of the test instrumentation. Analyses the influence of water temperature and pressure measurement on heat transfer in water side. Stresses that the key factor of reducing the measurement error is water temperature measurement of inout pipe of heat exchanger.
